Aishwarya Rai's Drastic Weight Gain Sparks Debate!

The shape which Aishwarya Rai is in five months after her pregnancy has generated unusual public interest with the Bachchan bahu coming in for some criticism for the "oodles of weight" gained by the actress. But some celebrites who have been associated with the 38-year-old Bollywood star including Designer Sabyasachi defended her, saying that like any other woman the new mother would definitely take some time to shed pregnancy weight.

The trigger for the reactions came following the publication of some pictures of the former Miss World while emerging out of a party hosted by eminent industrialist Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai last week. Married to Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya gave birth to her first baby, a daughter, on November 16, 2011.

The pictures set off a buzz on the internet and in the social media with articles, videos, blogs and tweets highlighting her "oodles of weight", "double chin" and calling the photos of the beauty queen "shocking".

Some social media writeups sought to suggest that the star is not taking her weight gain seriously. However, some blogs and tweets too have come out in Aishwarya's defence with comments that the focus on her post-pregnancy weight gain was pathetic.

A video compilation of her recent photos attracted comments like: "She is a Bollywood actress and being a part of showbiz it is her duty to look good and fit. Till now she has been praised for her beauty, so it is only fair that she should also be criticized if she is not able to live up to it.

She needs to learn from people like Victoria Beckham who are back to size zero weeks after their delivery! She needs to lose that weight... its been close to 5 months already!"

On the other hand, there are many who believe that five months is not enough time to shed weight and that the comments on her figure are "harsh".

Designer Sabyasachi, who made Aishwarya's costumes for Raavan, said, "Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has just delivered a baby and like any other woman she would definitely take time to put off that weight."

"She's a super celebrity and I think she is doing a commendable job by showing her real side to the media. Earlier, she was criticised for being unreal and plastic," Sabyasachi told PTI.

Aishwarya looked a lot slimmer at the press conference conducted by the Bachchans at their residence, Jalsa, immediately after the baby's arrival. But in recent photographs, Bollywood watchers say it seems as if she is heavier by five to six kilos.

Designer Rina Dhaka says that a new mother gains weight especially when she is taking care of her baby.

"It is very difficult for a woman to shed that weight. I think the media is being very harsh on her. They are deliberately printing those photos which are taken at an angle which makes her look fat or highlights her double chin," Rina said.

Designer Rocky S lashed out at the critics. "Why people are obsessed with Aishwarya's weight. This maternity weight takes time to lose. Being an internatianol celebrity she is not hiding her face, rather she is enjoying her motherhood. She should not be pressurised and she doesn't have to look perfect at this moment."

Even blogs and tweets have come out in Aishwarya's defence.

"Focus on Aishwarya's post preg weight gain pathetic. Glad she's not a celeb bimbo who's wheeled in2 plastic surgery straight frm labour room," said one Twitter user, while another wrote, "Reports in some parts of the media about Aishwarya's weight gain are vile and irresponsible. Let the woman be."

"Utterly gross & sexist commentary in sections of the media on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Makes me sick with anger at how we deconstruct women," said another tweet.

Pelik! Budak Kecil Ini Ketagih Makan Ubat Nyamuk

Macam pelik, tetapi itulah hakikatnya yang terjadi kepada seorang kanak-kanak berusia tujuh tahun bernama Abdillah Syarif. Kanak-kanak ini gemar memakan ubat nyamuk. Selera pelik ini sudah tentulah berbeza daripada selera kanak-kanak lain yang gemar akan makanan manis seperti kek dan coklat. Dalam sehari, Abdillah yang berasal dari Polewali Mandar, Sulawesi Barat, mampu menghabiskan sebungkus ubat nyamuk.

Ibu bapa Abdillah atau Adit sudah berusaha untuk menghentikan tabiat buruk anaknya itu tetapi bukan saja tidak berhasil, malah, ketagihannya kepada ubat nyamuk semakin bertambah. Tabiat aneh Adit menyebabkan anak keempat pasangan Syarifuddin dan Nurlina itu menjadi terkenal di desanya di Sabang Subik, Kecamatan Balanipa.

Adit mula gemar memakan ubat nyamuk ketika berusia lapan bulan. Pada mulanya, Adit yang belum pandai berjalan ketika itu, mendekati ubat nyamuk dan tiba-tiba memakannya. Hingga kini, dia jadi ketagih dan tiada sehari pun dilalui tanpa memakan ubat nyamuk. Dia juga melakukan tabiat itu secara diam-diam kerana takut dimarahi ibu bapanya.

“Enak dan manis,” katanya ketika ditanya sebab dia gemar memakan ubat nyamuk.

Usaha orang tuanya untuk menghentikan tabiat pelik anak mereka tidak berhasil. Walaupun sudah menyorokkannya di tempat lain, Adit akan mendapatkan ubat nyamuk dari rumah jiran mereka.

“Biasanya kalau tidak menemukan ubat nyamuk di rumah, dia akan mencurinya di rumah jiran,” kata Syarifuddin. Nurlina pula mengatakan tabiat Adit itu mungkin bawaan daripadanya.

“Dulu ketika hamilkan Adit, saya memang gemar mencium asap ubat nyamuk dan mungkin ia menurun kepada anak saya,” katanya.

Menurut doktor pakar pediatrik di Dinas Kesehatan Polewali Mandar, Sih Harjo Boko, Adit menghidap penyakit pica, iaitu kelainan keadaan pola makanan pada kanak-kanak.

Penyakit itu disebabkan kekurangan zat besi dalam diri kanak-kanak dan boleh pulih, bergantung pada keprihatinan ibu bapa menjaga anak mereka.

2 ditahan rogol kanak-kanak 6, 10 tahun

LEDANG – Tidak sedar diri, tepat buat seorang warga emas berusia 66 tahun apabila tergamak menjadikan kanak-kanak perempuan berusia 10 tahun sebagai pemuas nafsu serakahnya, sejak kira-kira enam bulan lalu.

Bagaimanapun, rahsia itu terbongkar selepas adik mangsa melihat mangsa ditindih suspek dengan kedua-duanya berbogel, sebelum memaklumkan kejadian itu kepada keluarganya.

Ketua Polis Daerah Ledang, Superintendan Harun Idris berkata, kejadian itu berlaku pada 9 Oktober lalu, di belakang kedai makan dan minuman di Jalan Panggung Lama, Tangkak.

Menurutnya, suspek adalah pelanggan tetap kedai milik bapa mangsa dan kenalan bapanya sejak sekian lama.

“Suspek ditangkap jam enam petang, hari sama dan direman sehingga Ahad ini.

“Suspek tidak mempunyai rekod jenayah lampau dan kes disiasat di bawah Seksyen 376 Kanun Keseksaan,” katanya pada sidang media di Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Ledang di sini, semalam.

Dalam kes berlainan pada hari sama, seorang kanak-kanak berusia enam tahun dirogol sepupunya berumur 24 tahun dalam kebun getah belakang rumah mangsa di Kampung Anjung Batu, Tangkak.

Harun berkata, dalam kejadian jam 4.15 petang itu, kanak-kanak berkenaan sedang tidur atas sofa di beranda rumah, dan suspek yang kebetulan lalu di situ terangsang apabila melihat pakaian mangsa tersingkap.

“Semasa kejadian, ibu bapa mangsa tiada di rumah dan suspek mendukungnya ke kebun getah lalu merogolnya,” katanya.

Jelasnya, ekoran itu pihaknya menahan suspek di sebuah rumah tidak bernombor di kampung yang sama kira-kira jam 4.50 petang dan ditahan direman sehingga Ahad ini.

Beliau berkata, siasatan juga mendapati lelaki tersebut mempunyai satu rekod jenayah lampau dan kes disiasat di bawah Seksyen 376 Kanun Keseksaan.

Kisah Ahmad Nisfu Mati Daif Dan Keseorangan

Peminat filem Melayu terutama dari era Tan Sri P. Ramlee pasti mengenali Ahmad Nisfu.

Mungkin bukan seorang pelakon yang kacak, tetapi pastinya seorang pelakon yang sangat berbakat.

Dalam kita mengangkat dan mengagungkan yang sudah pun berada di puncak,namun kita terlupa dengan sekian insan-insan seni yang dahulunya membuat kita ketawa terbahak-bahak tapi masa memamah nama insan seni itu dan terus tenggelam ditelan arus berzaman.

Dan mungkin ramai yang tidak tahu, penghujung hidup pelakon itu nyata berbeza sekali dari watak-watak orang kaya dipegangnya dalam sebahagian filem-filemnya.

Buktinya cukup nyata apabila sewaktu kemeriahan studio Jalan Ampas dahulu, setiap filem arahan P.Ramlee, Ahmad Nisfu boleh dikatakan kerap terlibat sama dan memegang watak agak besar.

Gelaran Paq Besaq (Pak Besar) juga telah diberikan kepada Ahmad Nesfu oleh P. Ramlee kerana lubang hidung Ahmad Nisfu yang besar.

Pelakon yang berasal dari Tanjong Tokong, Pulau Pinang itu pada awalnya ialah seorang pelakon bangsawan tetapi telah dilamar oleh Shaw Brothers untuk terlibat sama dalam produksi sebagai pelakon filem.

Aktiviti sosial Ahmad Nisfu hanyalah beramal di masjid di kawasan beliau tinggal dan juga di sekitar studio Jalan Ampas. Ahmad Nisfu dikhabarkan seorang yang pandai mengaji Al-Quran. Beliau juga merupakan seorang bilal di masjid di tempat beliau menetap dahulu.

Ahmad Nisfu juga pernah menjadi imam di Masjid Onan Road (sudah tiada lagi – tapaknya diambil oleh Muslim Convert Association).

Pernah satu kali, kami anak anak nakal, waktu sembahyang berimamkan Ahmad Nisfu, sedang dalam rukun, kami menyanyi perlahan-lahan sesama sendiri “Pura Cendana! Pura Cendana!” sambil menggigil-gigil menahan ketawa.

Habis sembahyang, tak sempat cium tangannya, kami diperambat hingga keluar masjid! “Korang usik aku ya!!! setan!!!”Itulah pengalaman nakal saya bersama ‘Raja Alam Syahbana, raja negeri Pura Cendana’.

Mungkin kerana keuzuran beliau tidak lama menjadi imam di situ. Seperti sudah berputus asa, beliau hidup berteduh di kubu Jepun di Jalan Labu tidak jauh dari Masjid Aminah di Jalan Nanas off Geylang Serai.

Lama juga beliau tinggal bersendirian di situ di bawah ikhsan orang kampung sekeliling. Tidak lama kemudian beliau meninggal dunia, setelah beberapa lama hidup sebatang kara dalam penuh kedaifan.. – totokreturn

KERALA : Seorang lelaki di selatan India, dikatakan menjual isterinya dengan harga Rs6,000 (RM419) untuk membiayai perangai buruknya yang suka minum arak.

Akhbar Makkal Osai melaporkan, Medula Rajender, 42 tahun, bekerja sebagai buruh.

Apabila dia kehabisan wang untuk membeli arak, dia membuat perjanjian dengan seorang broker untuk menjual isterinya, Medula Ammayi, 36 tahun, Sabtu lalu.

Pelik! Wanita Lahirkan Anak Kuda

Sebenarnya banyak kita dengar kes-kes tentang wanita melahirkan anak tetapi dalam bentuk fizikal haiwan. Seperti sebelum-sebelum ini kita juga pernah mendengar kes melahirkan ular dan sebagainya. Kejadian pelik kali ini pula berlaku di Benin City, Nigeria di sebuah gereja. Seorang wanita yang dikatakan tidak pernah mengandung selama 11 tahun telah melahirkan sesuatu yang amat pelik, iaitu seorang bayi yang menyerupai kuda. Bahkan ada juga yang mengatakan ia menyerupai seekor kambing.

Seorang saksi, Puan Veronica Egiebor, seorang jururawat, menyatakan bahawa wanita itu adalah seorang penjual sayur-sayuran dan telah berkahwin. Tujuannya datang ke gereja adalah berdoa dan memohon diberikan anak.

Beliau telah memegang kaki seseorang itu dengan pakaian kerana dia menolak sukar untuk bayi untuk keluar. Kemudian, ada sesuatu yang kelihatan jatuh. Namun bila dilihat, sesetengah orang memanggilnya kambing tetapi ia kelihatan seperti kuda. Ianya mempunyai leher yang panjang dan telinga yang panjang. Ia adalah sama seperti kuda, walaupun ia adalah dalam bentuk bayi.

Subhanallah! Fenomena Air Terjun Bergerak Ke Udara

Jika secara normal kita melihat air terjun sifatnya menuruni bukit, namun apakah perasaan kita apabila menyaksikan video fenomena air terjun bergerak ke udara pula.

Mana mungkin air terjun boleh bergerak ke udara, sedangkan secara normal kita lihat air terjun hanya boleh bergerak ke bawah. Namun itu hakikat yang berlaku apabila satu kejadian ganjil berlaku di Sydney apabila air terjun didapati bergerak ke udara akibat tiupan angin yang kuat pada minggu lalu. Kejadian yang ganjil itu berjaya dirakamkan menerusi kamera dan ia kemudian disiarkan di You Tube.

Air terjun itu tidak turun dari kawasan tinggi seperti kebiasaan. Apa yang terjadi ialah air terjun itu dipaksa angin bergerak ke udara.Kejadian itu berlaku akibat tiupan angin kencang yang melanda kawasan air terjun tersebut sehingga mencecah 120 kilometer sejam.

Bayi mangsa dera meninggal: Datuk masih terbayang-bayang keletah Balkis

Laporan akhbar ini semalam berkenaan Balkis yang meninggal dunia dipercayai akibat didera teman lelaki ibunya.

“Wak tidak akan maafkan dia sampai mati,” demikian kata datuk kepada Nur Irisyafida Balkis, bayi berusia lapan bulan yang meninggal dunia dua hari lepas selepas dipercayai didera oleh teman lelaki ibunya.

Balkis menemui ajal setelah tidak sedarkan diri selama enam hari sejak Khamis minggu lepas kerana mengalami tiga keretakan di tempurung kepala, patah tangan kanan dan kaki kiri.

Pasangan Kekasih Bunuh Anak Dihukum Gantung

Mahkamah Tinggi di sini semalam menjatuhkan hukuman gantung sampai mati ke atas seorang mekanik dan teman wanitanya selepas didapati bersalah membunuh anak wanita itu yang berusia tiga tahun 10 bulan tahun lalu.

Hakim Datuk Nurchaya Arshad membuat keputusan itu terhadap Tan Peng Tong, 29, dan Wong Mei Ting, 26, selepas mendapati pihak pendakwaan berjaya membuktikan kes melampaui keraguan munasabah.

Peng Tong dan Mei Ting didakwa membunuh Jasmine Lee Siew Hui, 3, di rumah No. D-3-15, Blok D, Tingkat 3, Pangsapuri Bayu, Taman Bukit Serdang, Serdang dekat sini antara 12 tengah malam, 1 Mac 2010 dan 7.50 pagi, 14 Mac tahun sama.

Budak lelaki dan kakaknya, berusia tiga dan empat tahun diikat dengan rantai besar supaya mereka tidak boleh melarikan diri atau diambil oleh orang tidak dikenali.

Mating Turtles Frozen for 50 Million Years

This is the first time any scientists has even uncovered vertebrates in the act while frozen. There are nine pairs of fossils that have been identified by various features such as their tails.

The fossils were found in the Messil Pit near Darmstadt, Germany, and they suspect that the two specimens were hit by a poisonous gas that crept out of the volcanic crater. The turtles were identified as an extinct species, by Dr. Walter Joyce, known as Allaeochelys Crasseculpta, but the odd thing was that each turtle had both a male and female part. The turtles had a shell that is almost a foot in length and more than a foot wide. The males had longer tails however, where as the females had much shorter tails that wouldn’t have been completely visible.

Dr Joyce said: “We demonstrate for the first time all couples contain one male and one female individual and the tails of some males are aligned with those of the female.”

The findings about the volcanic gases linking to the vertebrate fossils were published in the Royal Society journal Biology Letters.

“Here, we report numerous pairs of the fossil turtle Allaeochelys crassesculpta that represent for the first time among fossil vertebrates couples that perished during copulation. In our opinion, it is implausible that the A. crassesculpta couples found at Messel would actively swim, court and finally mate in poisonous surface waters or ingest poisonous surface waters only while mating.

Mass Wedding in South Korea Contained 2000 Couples

A unique ceremony in south Korea drew in an audience of over 20,000 church followers that wanted to witness a historic event. In a stadium in Gapyeong a massive wedding took place that included close to 2000 couples.

This unique South Korean Unification Church held a mass wedding that helped marry over 2000 couples from 54 different countries in under a day. The founder of the church is Sun Myung Moon, he and his wife were there to participate in the mass blessing ceremony. Every married couple had holy water sprinkled upon them, completing the marriage ceremony.

The purpose of the mass marriage ceremony was to remove all religious quarells, ethnic boundaries, and nationality differences. The overall goal was to demonstrate a minor amount of success in world piece with a common causing and the thought of forming new families.

“This whole experience has been absolutely amazing. I mean really really happy to have met Lisun and really happy that we are together now and really look forward to years ahead and so getting to know her well,” said Chouchane Saemie.

The odd aspect of this mass marriage was that a good portion of the couples had just me prior to the ceremony and some didn’t even even speak the same language, but were married all the same.

Couple Killed During Intercourse On Via Durta Freeway:
A young couple was driving on the Via Dutra, the longest freeway in Brazil. Via Dutra has consistent traffic and is known for destructive accidents. The couple decided that it was time for a quickie, so they they parked the car in the right hand lane, not the “safe” median or shoulder but the right hand lane carrying traffic. To make matters even more in their disfavor it was a very foggy  morning, greatly limiting the visibility and raising the stupidity of the risk. After about 30 seconds or so a Cargo truck lost traction and killed the couple instantly.

Angry Man In Wheel Chair Falls Causes His Own Death:
On August 25, 2010 in Daejon, South Korea, a handicapped man in a wheel chair became increasingly frustrated when an elevator closed and left without waiting for him. A woman had previously entered the elevator and pressed the door close button before seeing the handicapped man. Due to his irritation the man rammed the elevator doors three times, forcing them to open. Unfortunately the 40 year old man had squeezed through the doors on the third
push and plunged down an empty elevator shaft to his death.

Two Climbers Fall But Only One Survives:
During the winter months the higher mountains become snow covered and filled with hunters in search of game. Two courageous climbers ventured a little higher than normal so the terrain was new to the two. The trail led to a glacial pass that was quite steep, in order to cross the slope they needed to make a foot hold one at a time. The first climber got about half way and while making a foot hold, he hit a rock and slipped down the ice and off the mountain side. The second hunter called down to his friend and the first hunter confirmed that he was ok. Thinking that it was a safe route, the second hunter jumped and slid down the icy slope, clear off the cliff to a hundred foot fall and died. Unfortunately the first hunter had grabbed the only shrubbery on the cliff-side and mistakenly lead his friend to believe he was out of harms way.

Stupidity Calls For A Bomb Ride:
In a little town called Sedro-Woolley is Kagit Raceway. Come race day this small town fills with race fans. During the American Sprint Car Series two bored crew members, both of whom had high levels of college education
and a lot of mechanical/engineering expertise, thought up an interesting ride that would call into question their method of thinking. They designed a barrel with a small nosel for a plug, filled it with four gallons of methanol
(extremely flammable) and hopped on top. Now their thinking was that when they light the plug hole the methanol would ignite and create immense pressure pushing them across the parking lost at a high rate of speed. That didn’t happen as you can imagine, it turns out the barrel exploded sending pieces as far as 120 feet. It didn’t end well for two men who were aboard the explosion, one died from the blast and his injuries while the other was hospitalized with severe burns.

In Romania a son and his father were trying to fix a soil tamper that happened to be in the family for over 40 years. As it turns out the family had been stomping a cannon shell against the ground for the last 40 years and so far nothing had happened, until it broke and they tried to fix it. The device had a rusted handle that had broke and they attempted to fix it by welding the handle back to the metal shell. The first time the soil tamper was made the welder welded the handle in the just the right spot so the tool was harmless and the shell was never ignited, but when the father welded the tool back he did the opposite and ignited the primer causing the shell to fire which killed him instantly.

Base Jumping: Base jumping is considered one of the worlds most deadly sports with a high overall fatality rating due to the nature of the sport, free falling from high altitudes with a large tarp strapped to your back. The massive size and force of the wave can cause serious injury or death, pushing the surfer any where from 10-50 feet below the surface. Construction Worker Survives Iron Bar Skull Skewering

In Rio De Janerio a 24-year-old man, who works on a construction site, survived a severe accident when a 6-foot metal bar dropped from above him and landed in his head. The steel bar pierced his head from the to and exited out the left side of his face, below his eyebrow.

Eduardo Leite’s was rushed to the hospital where the doctors were able to successfully remove the piece of steel, after a five-hour surgery.

“He was taken to the operating room, his skull was opened, they examined the brain and the surgeon decided to pull the metal bar out from the front in the same direction it entered the brain.” stated Essinger.

Leite had arrived at the hospital complete aware of his surrounding and the situation, even to the point that he was able to explain what had happened. After the surgery was complete he was a little lucid the doctors stated, but there were no signs of negative consequences or complications.

The metal bar fell from the fifth floor of the construction building and went through the hard hat that Eduardo was wearing. The entire event was a miracle that should have killed him, but some how he survived and remain relatively undamaged, considering the circumstances.

“They told me he was lying down (in the ambulance) with the bar pointing upward,” said Leite’s wife.” He was holding it and his face covered in blood. His look was as if nothing had happened. When he arrived he told the doctors he wasn’t feeling anything, no pain, nothing. It’s unbelievable.”

Berjalan kaki 5,700km untuk tunaikan haji

SARAJEVO – Seorang lelaki Islam Bosnia yang berjalan kaki untuk menunaikan ibadah haji di Mekah pada tahun lalu memberitahu agensi berita AFP bahawa dia tiba di kota suci tersebut selepas merentasi tujuh buah negara termasuk Syria yang kini dilanda perang saudara.

“Saya tiba di Mekah pada Sabtu lalu. Saya tidak letih, ini merupakan hari paling bahagia dalam hidup saya,” kata Senad Hadzic menerusi satu temu bual telefon.

Lelaki berusia 47 tahun itu memberitahu, dia berjalan kaki sejauh 5,700 kilometer (km) selama 314 hari merentasi Bosnia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turki, Syria dan Jordan untuk ke Mekah dengan membawa beg sandang seberat 20 kilogram.

Polis Tahan 13 Lelaki Disyaki Terlibat Kes Menyamar Kerabat Diraja Kedah

GEORGE TOWN: Polis Pulau Pinang menahan 13 lelaki disyaki terlibat dalam kes penyamaran anggota kerabat diraja Kedah di sebuah hotel di Jalan Penang pada Selasa.

Ketua Polis negeri Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi berkata dalam serbuan pukul 3 petang itu, kesemua lelaki berusia sekitar 38 hingga 61 tahun itu ditahan ketika menghadiri program yang dinamakan ‘Majlis Pelantikan Ahli Pertubuhan Kebajikan Islamiah Malaysia Diraja’ sebagai tetamu kehormat di hotel berkenaan.

Katanya majlis yang dijadual berlangsung dari pukul 3 hingga 5 petang itu dihadiri kira-kira 120 tetamu yang terdiri daripada individu terlibat dengan pengurusan pusat hiburan di negeri ini.
